Singles from L.A.M.F.:
-Chinese Rocks
-One Track Mind
-It's Not Enough
October 3, 1977:
L.A.M.F. was first released on October 3, 1977. The original version of the album had a mastering fault which resulted in the album sounding muddy. The following year Track Record went out of business which led to the band's manager Leee Black Childers burglarizing their office to take back the band's tapes. He found everything except for the master-tape. Since then, multiple attempts have been made to release a better sounding version of the album.
1984:
Johnny Thunders remixed the tapes in February 1984 and new version titled L.A.M.F. Revisited was released that year. This version and all subsequent versions include the addition of the tracks "Do You Love Me" (originally performed by The Contours) and "Can't Keep My Eyes On You".
1994:
Jungle Records executive Alan Hauser had the tapes of alternate mixes from 1977 reviewed. The 300-plus mixes were narrowed down to create L.A.M.F. (The Lost '77 Mixes).
July 17, 2021:
In 2020 a copy master of the original 1977 Track Record tape was found in co-producer Daniel Secunda's attic and proper sounding master of the album titled L.A.M.F. - The Found '77 Masters was finally released on July 17, 2021.

- Edited 2 months agoI bought a copy of this version of L.A.M.F. because it’s supposed to be the best sounding one. While it’s got more clarity than my original UK version, it still isn’t very dynamic. It’s a bit flat and lifeless. I think as flawed as it is, the original is better.
If people were actually serious, what would happen is that this new “found master” would be remastered by some absolute genius who could adjust the eq and give it more life and air. And then it would be pressed on normal virgin black vinyl instead of this gimmicky pink splatter crap. - I'm sitting on most LAMF presses and mixes through the ages, if you ever reached my old blog (whitetrashsoul) you'll probably already know the whole story. I'm assuming from the loud drums that this is Jerry's mix. No matter what you need this (also)!
- I think they used exactly the same master for the recent CD issue: https://www.discogs.com/release/20867818-Heartbreakers-LAMF-The-Found-77-Masters-Demos I hear no difference at all. All instruments and vocals very nicely separated and expressive. Maybe it could be more dynamic and less compressed, but it's the best sounding version I've heard so far. Some cracking on vinyl, so I think I'll listen to CD.

- Edited 11 months agoSide A sounds fkn awesome!!! Side B..is kinda a mix bag.. like the drugs wore off(or on) on whoever was mixing Side B. Everything sounds a bit mixed *in the red* tape distortion sound. while a few other tracks have that sheen of side 1.
EDIT: after comparing the original UK. That same sound is still on side B.. albeit warm and muddy :). Verry different listening experience. - Edited one year agoI've owned the 1st press and the LAMF Revisited LPs for years and nearly passed on this, but, so, so, glad I didn't and really happy I pulled the trigger. I wasn't expecting big things, maybe a marginal improvement, so I was amazed to hear these songs I've known for decades sound so much clearer and given a new lease of life. This is a definite upgrade on the original, 84 and 94 mixes.
- This is worth it for It's Not Enough (Ramport, June 1) alone - The Track LP restored version of One Track Mind is also still the best imo as are Baby Talk (Advision, September 15) and Let Go (Ramport, June 10)
