Ruts* – The Crack

The rough mixes alone are worth the price of admission. I could swear these mixes were the ones used on vinyl I used to own in the 80's - they're fuller, simpler and tonally more dub influenced than the official final mixes.

Great album but a very disappointing and very lazy release. My vinyl is full of crackle all through both sides. No gatefild and just a plain white cardboard inner sleeve. No lyric sheet. Very bare bones but not a bare bones price. Avoid!

Wanted this album for a long time, since it's amazing, but I wish I'd known that for $40 before taxes and shipping, the entire package is the cover and a record in a plain white innersleeve. No lyrics sheets, no special remastering, no gatefold, no digital download. 7 Seconds recently put out a couple of their old albums with great sound quality that came with a 7" and an amazing booklet with interviews from tons of people that was cheaper than this. Just feels gross to gouge fans...surprised this isn't a Newbury exclusive.

Surprised this album isn't worth more considering its admiration by Henry Rollins as one of the greatest punk albums of all time and his quest to find the original painting that graced the cover as noted in this article and video. Sounds fine for a picture disc! Obviously not 100% quiet - because physics.
But the very little humm is neglectable when the music plays.
Beautiful and heavy disc.

god i was always so into this lp about 40 years back, this is a beautiful japan edition released in 1979 in japan with a beautiful obi strip as you can see and comes with an insert with english lyrics on one side and japanese text on the other, i actually have 2 copies if this japan lp as i found one cheap the second time & paid a lot for it the first time so i was not going to let a cheaper nm copy go at a record show many years ago once, i rarely in over 40 years of collecting records, 45s & cds have seen this one pop up. great mix of punk & dub here, think of a more underground sound of what the clash where doing in 1979 w/ london calling........

My copy has a Ruts sticker on the front cover.
