The first track on this album is without a doubt my favorite single production from Muslimgauze (Lahore is a close, close second), and the rest of the album holds up. Not all of his usual motifs make an appearance (not that I mind one way or the other); regardless this is a fucking strong project with or without them. The undercurrents to the more aggressive tracks are still just as rhythmic and mesmerizing as any other project, as said by jackthetab. But, that aside, there is an extremely successful use of distortion in the tracks where sloppy, chopped-up, masterfully disorganized bass is more of the focus.- Edited 6 years ago

The previous review for this is somewhat misleading. Yes there is some harshness with experimental distortionisms all over the place yet there is some really strong hypnotic tribal trance beats which remain long and consistent. At times these beats are the foreground over the distortions which sometimes take a back seat. This does help minimize the aggressiveness and also creates a very cohesive album. Not the holy grail of Bryn Jones but certainly right up there. referencing Mazar-I-Sharif (CD, Album) SOL 70 CD
One of the harshest-sounding Muslimgauze albums. If you're into noise, here's your gateway drug.
