The most similar artist to this release is actually the one who mixed this album , Mr. Steven Stapleton aka NURSE WITH WOUND , go into his discography / catalouge , and you will never return ;)
He made/ produced tons of amazing records. And many in this climate ….. enjoy.

By far and away my fave Coil rec. If anyone has any recommendations as to which albums or other artists may be similar (super minimal, no rhythm tracks, disquieting ambience, no goofy voices or synths) I'd love to have 'em. This album is perfection and I'm in desperate need of more.

Although title says it's a remix album of the original EP from 1984, these tracks are more like completely new songs based on the original one. We could hear the same motifs in every one track, but each one of them has its own self. First "Sleeper" is a little miniature, but the next "Remotely" is total opposition - the longest, (17 minutes) true dark and scary ambient. After such nervous experience time for a little relax, but of course relax in Coil style - "Sleeper II" is beautiful and the most calm piece of music on this record. 4th track and antoher contrast - for a change this song is really harsh and disturbing. Samples of swords (which were recorded live for the original EP) really crash our ears. "Dismal Orb" is next part to "Remotely", but better - it's not as scary and tiresome, more mysterious and pleasant. New version of the original track closes this compilation - Steve Stapleton done some good work, bringing it into new dimension without losing magical aftertaste. Trance and ritual.
Whatever this band touches, it turns into gold - this album is far better than original. It contains everything what was and something extra.
