- This is a great record. So clear with the percussion and drums spaced out and mixed amazingly, on a good system you'll get it all.
- What a great find this was... such a fun record. And identifying the looped beats by modern artists just enhanced to the experience.
- For those curious, you can play it without the DBX disc decoder on a regular turntable, it has a "thicker" sound, more low-end, which is cool, I got a chance to compare it to the regular on Inner City, and I kind of prefer the DBX "mix", the kick drums are punchier, and the bass a little thicker, you lose a little fidelity for the higher end, but it doesn't sound bad, it doesn't make the hi-hats any less "good sounding" for example.
Give it a try, it won't hurt the needle, or the record, and you may discover if you're a beathead, this mix for the low-end is great! - The opening drum break in "Super Mellow" was used in Beastie Boys' "Shake Your Rump".
This whole album is beautifully recorded and produced. - Shelly's Blues is sampled by DJ Shadow in What does your soul look like EP (sampled in Part 2)Mo' Wax (1995).
