The whole One Second album is one big odyssey of an album, the most coherent that Yello ever made and all the constituent parts makes best sense on its whole.
In contrast to kevinsingel I rather find the Goldrush single to be the anomaly both of the album and and as part of the Yello canon, but somehow, specially on the CD which is finished off with "L'Hôtel", it is the outlier that still makes sense on the album, but certainly not as a single. "Call it love" on the other hand is cut out of the continuous album flow and is maybe not as remarkable as a single left to make it on its own in this non-magic world of ours, but I do love it and to have extended and Trego versions to enjoy is a very nice bonus. And L'Hôtel" on vinyl? 5+ every day of the week.- One word: Fantastic !!! Fantastic sound quality and fantastic music. [ Playing this using an Ortofon 2M Black cartridge ]

As much as I love Yello this song always seemed an anomaly in their catalog in that it never quite figures out what it wants to be. Just a mish mash of half baked ideas tossed together and nothing in the song "sticks" or sticks out, not even in the mix or the production which is very unusual for Boris. I am also a HUGE Billy Mackenzie (r. i. p.) fan and even his vocal parts don't draw me into this in any way either. Oh well. To each his own..
