      Capture the Sun is the third album by the American jazz group Spyro Gyra, released in 1980 on Record MCA. The album was awarded gold status by the RIAA on June 5, 1985.

      At Billboard magazine, "Capture the Sun" reached number 19 on the top 200 album chart. The song "Catching the Sun" reached number 15 on the Adult Contemporary singles chart and number 68 on the Hot 100 singles chart. The song "Percolator" reached number 48 on the Adult Contemporary singles chart. In Canada, the album peaked at number 80 on the Top 100 Albums chart.

        Truly an audiophile recording. I don't have the standard pressing but this sounds very good compared to their other albums ( before they started recording digitally ).

          This is interesting. This is really interesting. I know nothing about the band but this album is chill. I love how it sounds funky but it's not cliche. It reminds me of Bill Conti's jazz-funk stuff. Whoever Spyro Gyra is, they're amazing and talented!
