- Just picked up a sealed copy and it seems i got lucky. No major pops or clicks and no warping. Compared to my copy of Sunset Mission, it's a revelation ! Packaging is ultra Black ... black inner sleeves (no poly liners ) and black inside the main cover too. So unfortunate that they decided to slap a white barcode in the middle of the rear cover. I don't understand why they cannot just have the barcode as a sticker on the shrink . Anyway, i'm just super happy that my copy plays through clean from start to finish with gorgeous depth of sound.
- I bought two copies of this album. The second one was more lucky, but not much. There are small clicks and not a big defect at all on the last melody at the end of the record on the D side
- What an excellent album. I am very pleased with the sound, very layered with high detail. Deep and ominous, the pressing is quiet with just the right amount of surface noise because life itself has surface noise.
- Listening to a brand new copy of the remaster and it plays great! Dead silent with no visible scratches. Sounds amazing on my AudioTechnica AT-LP120XUSB.
- As already stated here: Lots of surface noisee and lots of hairlines out of the box. On the other hand a great mix with a wide soundstage. Cleaning the records improved it a litte, but still some pops and the surface noise won't go away. If you can live with this flaws it's a decent relase with nice gatefold artwork.
- Sound quality is decent actually, but the vinyl is riddled with light pops and crackles. Plus there’s some small warping as well. Ideally such a quiet record should sound better on a CD (where there’s no surface noise), but listening to this album on vinyl does have its perks. The “doom” has this special lowness to it because it’s played on an analogue format. That’s my take. Plus this record sounds great on both 33rpm and 45rpm as well haha.
