Some strong French techno from David Carretta on his second full-length for International DJ Gigolo Records, *Kill Your Radio*. And while the album's title might be onto something, I imagine it'd be quite a shock to hear a track like "Lovely Toy," with its electroclash leanings, pumping out of an FM station. But the heavy thump of "Te Quiero Me Amor" would probably be too much, even for the most progressive of stations. The pure funky darkness of "The Blue Box" would have most speakers spitting out black, while the slightly off-kilter synths and mysterious vocodered vocals on "Homer" keep the listen off-balance. "Ta Liberte C'est Ca" takes a lighter approach towards the end, which helps lead naturally into the peppy "Pop et Synthetique." Soon enough, however, the title track and "Extreme Body" get things kicking again. So even if you do end up killing your radio, at least you'll have found a worthy replacement for it.

Carretta pleases both my love for techno and electro in this full-length release. "Extreme Body" has compelling, rising acid melodies that seem to take you further in with each beat. "Te Quiero Mi Amor" drops into a tough acid bassline bordering on EBM immediately at the beginning of the song (and it only gets better from there.) "Lovely Toy" is also a crowd pleaser.
