Great album for those deep disco house headz! Pure essencereferencing One Night In The Disco (CD, Album) !K7R009cd
This is Nick Holder's first official album, although he released a lot of music on various labels before (such an DNH Records). 1996 closely followed the disco sampling madness push upfront by Kenny Dope with his Bucketheads project the previous year. And so, Nick Holder elaborates on a few disco classics, looping the catchiest parts. 'Greatest Dancer' features the Sister Sledge classic 'He's The Greatest Dancer', later used by Will Smith for his single 'Gettin' Jiggy With It'. 'Don't Go Away' was released as a single with nice remixes. Note that there are no apparent filters: this treatment was yet to be popularized by Motorbass, Carl Craig (Paperclip People) and ultimately Daft Punk.
The other tracks, not arranged with samples, come in contrast with the disco feel which emanates from the first titles, and are not as strong.
If we compare this album to the further works of Nick Holder, it is probably the easiest, but there is a beginning to everything.
