A really good, under-rated album in my honest opinion...
I recently picked this CD up in a charity shop for 50p, as you do, and I was VERY pleasantly surprised to find out how fresh and catchy it was! Because I buy so many, I never expect much when I listen to old, charity shop CDs! I put this on, and almost immediately I was reaching for the CD booklet to have a look at the details! A GOOD sign that I actually really like something! And, I had of course heard of The Farm (even when I was 13 I DO remember watching them in the charts on the sorely missed ITV Saturday Chart Show - 1130am-1230pm), but I'd only ever heard 'Altogether Now' and 'Groovy Train' - Two BIG hits for them, 'Altogether Now' being the longer-lasting memory I'm sure that everyone of a certain age has! And almost everyone will remember the brilliantly simple plinky guitar riff when they hear 'Groovy Train' again! One of those "Oh! Yeah! I REMEMBER THIS!" moments, for sure! That 'Groovy Train' riff kind've put them in the league of Happy Mondays and Stone Roses at the time, albeit a Scouser equivalent, and maybe without so many drugs around them!? Maybe...?! =O) ;O)
Perhaps "Love See No Colour" was "critically acclaimed" at the time (1992), I don't know, I was only 13 at that time! But listening with fresh ears today, I feel that it's a solid effort indeed. And a shame that back then they kinda filtered away into the background... (though I think they've reformed these days [2004 - to now, 2017]). Good luck to them.
