        My copy of this album seems to have a pressing/mastering error near the end of the title track, last song on side 1.
        I get a needle hop after the silent pause just before the Rock-On lyric where there is a pre-beat with a very low frequency note. I examined the grooves with a jewelers loop, there is no physical damage but I can see some pretty wild waveform in the groove structure, suspect it's just a bit too much oscillation to track properly and it kicks back a groove.

        Anyone else notice this with their copy?

          This album is an artifact of its time. The title track is one of the iconic classics of 70s Top 40 rock, and the rest of the Lp follows suit, as Essex, with the assistance of Jeff Wayne, does his very best to be David Bowie Mk. II. Along with the title track, "Lamplight" and "Ocean Girl" (Essex originals) set the tone here. Wayne's production is superb, and is one of the best examples of "ping pong" wide stereo in the modern rock era - you MUST listen to "Rock On" with headphones to get the super-psych effect at maximum. Truly a classic piece of 70s rock.
