Shame these tracks weren't used more as I feel they are more powerful than most of the main songs/tracks that were used. This mix was very well put together but there are far too many diva-ish/tiresome vocals for me. MAW to me have always been far more garage house orientated than House. Not a criticism, just an observation.
I saw MAW at The Arena in Middlesbrough in 96/97 and for me they were just far to garagey and the constant barrage of vocals became overwhelming, predictable and boring. I'm not a stick in the mud, I love songs and a good sing-a-long but for me and my friends who all agreed. The power of each song was lost in the endless sea of them. referencing Sessions 5 (2×CD, Mixed) mincd5
I noticed the Suffer (The Consequences) track by Rochelle Fleming has no remix credit. It was the Loveland mix the MAW duo played.
Fancy that? It was pretty good though, imo.- Edited 10 years ago

Hadn´t listened to this for a long long time when i decided to pop it on my player today.
Massive mix indeed. Probably can we call it a suberb pillar of the finest selection of garage house back when it was on top. And it´s unbelievable how much house has changed since then. Today vocals are pretty left behind, i mean, it´s around but i don´t feel it serves as a backbone of house tracks today. Remembering around millennium time things started to decline.
Anyways, The first CD is very much about the vocals indeed. MAW serving up vocal classics after classics. Biggest one maybe "Deliver Me" which was also played to death back here home.
Pop in CD 2 and you get lot´s of dubs brought on. Dub´s is pretty much a dead breed in house that kind of vanished when vocal tracks became a thing of the past. Back then, dubs played a huge pivotal role on the scene and was a surefire out of traditional sets to bring a deeper groove to the floor. MAW was one of the pioneers of the dubs, releasing many of the kind on the B-sides of many known and less known tracks in the early days of their career when they started collaborating together.
We have this Jersey House revival thing going on. Just wondering if they notch it up and decides to dust of classic vocalists from the golden past.
However, there is no reason to skip on this even today. Sounds fresh still, has an delighted party vibe all round and is just a fantastic compilation to put on if you you want to reminisce of the glory hay days of garage house. MAW was the masters back then. You just gotta´believe.. referencing Sessions 5 (2×CD, Mixed) mincd5
This soars to another plain. Travelling without moving grooving along effortlessly into the night.
Simple effective well constructed tunes, and mixed too boot with great talent and skill.
The blissfull free spirited tune that is Keep On, takes you gleefully into house music heaven, while maintaining a groove and riff that cements your body to the dancefloor.
Soulfull, jazzy house, gospel inspired vocals, deep momments transending rhythms, eb and flow of ever so subtle basslines, the charasmatic keyboard riffs.
Its heaven sent.referencing Sessions 5 (2×CD, Mixed) mincd5
This is in my opinion the best Garage/House mix released by Ministry of Sound. Some fantastic songs on both cds (Michael Watford, Michael Proctor, Tony Ransom, Barbara Tucker, Todd Terry etc).
Despite the fact that this cd is 12 years old, it has stood the test of time really well.
As you would expect, it's very well mixed and flows excellently. Nevertheless, I could do without the incessant Masters at Work voiceover on occasions but it's not too annoying.
This cd is soulful/deep/jazzy and I would recommend it. Most of the other sessions I could take or leave but not this.
