I like this album. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys the Hyperdelic-era live shows featured on various live albums, which due to my age is the only way for me to have heard these performances. The subject matter, style, and flow of the tracks is very much a concrete coalescence of that era's ideas: Hookah Chalice and Just Because appear to be the studio versions of Riot in the Eye and I Like You, respectively, and there's lots of Genesis pontificating on the abstract idea of a friend. The music is solid, and the tracks better be long and experimental--that's what's expected from PTV! I won't comment on Genesis' vocals, because I feel it is the message that is the important thing, but it does bring to mind the recent vocal work of John Duncan.
