Reviews
- Cuica only ever put on one album, CITY TO CITY, but it's a strong one, jammed full of solid beats and jams. "Why Not Samba?" starts things with a Brazilian-flavored slice of jazzy tech-house, while "Cuidado" brings the percussion to the fore, adding some vocals in for additional flavor. "Meierising Pt 2/3" incorporates more tropical samples at its start, but it's the moody sweeps of "Trommel Monster" which sing out stronger (the deeper tones on "Double Blues" work similarly well). "Meierising Pt 1" brings in the funk, and "Nights Over Vauxhall" returns to Brazil before "Slipping Away" closes the album on pure chill. Too bad Cuica never decided to travel to more cities with their brand of music.
