- I really hope it is. It seems so odd to "get it wrong" for such a specific release.
I've bought it anyway, and I'll convince myself it is Plastic People just for the love of the club. I fucking loved that place. i wonder how many recordings were made over the years there, sadly all tucked away. - Edited 5 years agoThis set have a lot of similarities with the set Theo Parrish played at Bird Rotterdam on 29-03-2013. Indeed I think that the set on this 3cd is the recorded set from that night at Bird.
First I thought it was strange that I only hear Dutch people talk in the background. But of course it is possible that Plastic People is visited bij Dutch people, especially since Theo Parrish has a lot of fans worldwide. But a look at a youtube video summarizing the evening at Bird (Theo Parrish @ BIRD, Rotterdam (29-03-2013)) make me think this is the set, because all the records he played on there, are on this 3cd and also the chanting and the yelling on this video are in line with the recording on this 3CD. - This is an interesting CD set BUT I think people who might buy this might get frustrated with the sonic quality of the recording (myself included). In some places, it's very quiet and boomy and then in some parts it's pretty clear (but definitely not all the time). Like was this getting recorded from a mic at the end of the bar. Definitely I've heard Theo Parrish's other CDs and and they are fantastic but this is, without a doubt, a chore to listen to. It probably was dope to witness in person. Doesn't put the set in the highest of highs, Plastic People had a phenomenal sound system and Theo Parrish is a fantastic DJ but you'd never know that from this CD set which is unfortunate.
