- rember listening to his in my small paris chambre de bonne balcony 2002 for hours on end. beautiful.
- There is quite simply nobody else like Buck 65. He sounds like he gargles petrol instead of mouth wash in the morning and probably busks throughout the day to earn enough for a quart of whisky for the evening, but I just love that haggard sound. I always thought he sounded a little like Tom Waits with that gravel voice infact, but anyway, this is by far his best release with some of the most beautiful beats i've ever heard.. To state it again no one does it like Buck 65. His songs are quite often story driven, whether it be about shining shoes ('Craftmanship') or living on a boat ('Riverbed') it just feels like hes describing something he has personally been through, and I like that, feels like your sitting in some lonely bar having these stories told to you. There are to many highlights on this ablum to accuratly pick the best, but I love the epic sound of '463', the sadness of 'Tired Out' and 'Roses & Blue Jays', and I love the fact that everytime I hear 'Protest' it puts a smile on my face. So all in all its an album which conveys many moods and manages to successfully explore many different sounds and not have a single song sound out of place, which is incredibly impressive. I cannot stress how good this album is, definatly check it out if your after something abit different.
- This release from Buck 65 has the feel of hobo's and broken down railway sidings. Fused with his clever lyrics and raspy gravel throated delivery it is one of the finest albums i've heard in along time. Although Buck 65 is a Hip Hop artist this album is something else; with slide guitars, jaws harps and and a track about shining shoes it resists classification.
