- Edited 11 months agothis sounds like the band is right in front of you, in the same room and just kicking ass and laying down the law. ive seen that some of these Backtrack 10 Mono pressings are noted as having some of the tracks actually in stereo. well, i only have a couple different US Stereo pressings (one of which ive been listening to my entire life-no joke) to compare this to, but everything sounds like a perfectly centered and explosive Mono cut that just pisses all over those Stereo US pressings. except for "I Don't Live Today". sounds like a totally different mix than ive ever heard, and the vocals are mostly in the right channel. maybe thats the 'stereo' one here? idunno. this pressing just flat-out destroys. Highly Recommended.
- Edited 6 years agoI have a variant of this pressing not listed on Discogs.
Side 1: 2407010 (hand etched) 612001 A//2∇420 1 1 (stamped).
Side 2: 2407010 (hand etched) 612001 B A(crossed out) 1 (stamped).
Side 1 is a mixture of stereo and mono but side 2 is mono. Some cuts on side 1 sound fantastic while others have a strange quality that may be 'enhanced' mono; Foxy Lady and Love or Confusion are true stereo. Side 2 is 100% mono and sounds awesome! - The Backtrack Series is full of labeling errors and this record is no different.
Right on the back it says MONO and while Red House, Can You See Me, 3rd Stone From The Sun and Remember are all mono, the rest is a hodgepodge of stereo mixes that resemble the US Reprise cut.
