Reviews
- Edited 11 years agoThe wild difference between Hospital Records album releases and their compilations is something I will never understand: as the albums become weaker, the compilations become surprisingly memorable, and this Sick Music 2 is one of the better ones they have released so far, with every producer doing their best. Here you have the opener, the best Netsky composition in all his career, the Sonic tune where he takes advantage of Dianne Charlemagne as no one has managed to do in all these years, "Turn up the music" which is very different to what Camo&Krooked use to release (very subdued, with a masterful control of tension) and way their best, B-Complex also releasing something incredible, the string-leaded "Three dots"... There are slightly weaker tunes here, like the Nu:Tone addition, but the level is wonderful, original and remixes. So, to end the review, two other standouts for me: Royalston's "Tough luck", which sounds like it's going to explode and it doesn't, and the Upbeats remix of the Shapeshifter's song, leading it where the original song sould have ended. Wonderful, really, one of the better drum n bass compilations available.
