- For me, there are only a couple reasons to buy this: One is for the track Siddhaloka, which starts out slow, but picks up a bit of tribal steam as it goes along. I would have been blown away by this track had I heard it back in 1993, when Goa Trance was just getting off the ground. In the history of Goa Trance, this is an important track for 1993 and it would be a nice track to wind down a set for that time period. I also like the ambient track Heaven transmission and would play that at the beginning of a Goa set to set the mood as the dance floor centers itself and prepares for lift off. The rest of the tracks are not my cup of tea, but for those 2 tracks I am adding this to my collection.
- Edited 16 years agoThe cd starts off with some fairly dismal and typical psy trance of the day. It's only listenable because i tend to like analog more than digital sounds. Third eye normally adds quality to the average formulation of trance but it's not found on this cd as much as some of their others. After 7 minutes of "Dying" it finally wraps up with decency when it all comes together. Unfortunately 2 minutes of good can not outweight 7 minutes of below average. "New Life", the single off this album starts with a nice piano hook and bassline. Has a very nice island sound to it, very Astralasia when the womens whispering tribal lyrics about, still an average track. "Toward the still point" and "heaven transmission" are ambient tribal pieces that are somewhat inbetweeners or breaks for the trance sounds of "siddhaloka" and "dance of creation" which is sort of like Burning Man type trance that makes me want to hang myself. Finally like Third Eye woke up from a good dream we have "Transformation/Joy" which in the likes of a Robert Leiner, is the only true techno track on this disk. It has similar bell sounds as Leiner's "The Real Thing" just think toned down dub version with a better bassline and piano lick(!?). Very Zen Paradox of the time this track is almost worth the price of admission on this average disk.
