- Occidental Sadness
“A winter's day in a deep and dark December, I am alone, gazing from my window to the street below on a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow. I am a rock, I am an island.” A couple of rock ‘n’ rolls, a lot of Merseyside beat and some melancholic ballads – that’s Would You Believe? album. “Fifi the flea fell in love with a clown from a flea circus fair, she gave him her heart but he still couldn't see that for such a long time she had cared. He put himself round all the other girl fleas unaware that he hurt her so badly she cried in the arms of his manager friend and declared that she loved the clown madly.” And all those timeless guitar riffs sound so sweet now.
