Reviews
- Julie Fowlis has a beautifully fresh and honest sound. She sings in the Hebridean language, which is a lesser known "Scottish" Gaelic, mainly spoken in the Hebridean Isles. The phonetic shapes of the words captivated me, as one who had never heard the language until listening to Julie's music. Her vocal phrasing has a natural balance of innocent charm and well seasoned accuracy, which from the first bar, makes you want more. The supporting musicians on this album are outstanding, and Julie is a great addition to the growing list of Celtic, female artists and Celtic music in general.
