This is the record that singlehandedly turned me from a hiphop fan into a hardcore head/ junglist over night. In the ziggy break at school my mate called me over and gave me his headphones and his walkman and said I shall listen, he must´ve smelled I´d fall in love with it. I couldn´t believe my ears and was sold from the spot. Since that day the search for the perfect beat never stopped, constantly digging for more, living the life of a slave to the rave haha. Music is a such a pleasure, it keeps on giving! And so does these three tunes (I think only the original of Edge Of Madness falls off in quality), it took me years of still discovering details in them. I am sure I wrote a review on this years ago but the Discogs police seems as busy as always. Naughty samples, vibes for miles, you gotta love the ruffness!

"Everything I see is half real." The happy hardcore pioneers at their best. Like early Prodigy. Meaning it serious. Sounds a little dumpbass now, but the machines work. Creating 5-6 minutes tracks that switch from piano dub to d'n'b to hardcore. Structered by extreme catchy vocal samples: "There's an invisible intruder.." (Corona 93 ;-)
I recommend also KF003 - just the same, maybe slightly weaker because of all the "Yeah!" crying females.

A2 "insanity clause" also samples Asher D & Daddy Freddy`s "raggamuffin hip hop"

I am very astonished that this KF release - especially as it is the first one - has not received any review yet. For me this release is also the best that saw the light of day on that extraordinary label.

All tracks combine great sampling with banging breaks and keep the balance between dark sometimes a bit harder appearance and the mellow piano riffs that majority of tracks still included at that time. Nevertheless, the balance is so perfect that you never have the feeling that it becomes too cheesy or too dark. The main vocal samples by New Beginnings, Roxette, Jungle Brothers and The Geto Boys do the rest. A definite must in every UK Hardcore, Breakbeat Collection!
