- ZPCK....Not good, Sounded very amateurish. Didn't care much for the production value either. #&%? was nothing special either. The fact the tracks have two names you cant pronounce just makes me think he didn't put much thought or effort into this release.
- Edited 17 years agoWhile the unpronounceable #&%? is far from bad, it might be a bit too trancey to be taken very seriously. It is also unclear whether the slow-downs are a good idea or too cheesy. In any case, it does bear the Dr. Fernando! mood.
The killer is ZPCK, though. Lots of reverb, rhythmic patterns with balls and two hypnotic Acid lines to boot, clearly designed for big rigs.
Not sure what the intention was when this one was released, but in hindsight, it resembles the Belgian answer to 100% Acidiferous: ZPCK is so akin to a Caution Acid track it is confusing, Dr. Fernando! shares the name with half of the aforementioned group (Fernando Sanchez) and, to top it all off, this EP has only two tracks (as opposed to any other Dr. Fernando! release) pressed on the highly unlikely 10" vinyl format (the very first instance on Music Man, it seems), just like all releases bar one on the famous PCP sublabel.
