Reviews
- I held out on buying this for awhile because of the negative reviews. While the observations are valid, upon first listen, I'm finding it's not that terrible. Also, keep in mind these were REMIXED by Robert Smith in 2009 which was during the height of the loudness war, so when compared to the "best" produced albums that year, I imagine it sounded great. It would have been cute if somewhere in the liner notes it read: "THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO SOUND LOUD SO THAT IT CAN COMPETE WITH LADY GAGA, U2 AND GREEN DAY ON YOUR IPHONE."
- Anyone see have a black copies with the combination of Matrix / Runout Identifications that match both the test pressing and this Version?
- I'm not sure if it is the loudness wars type thing going on here, but it isn't great. Shame, as these songs spread on 2 LP's should sound great.
- The lot of the US Rhino Version of this Album was very poorly pressed as there is a high percentage of warped LP's. Rhino has done nothing to correct his major issue. Terribly disappointing.
- Very disappointing sound quality. Too compressed, very undefined. Quite comparable to the sound quality of the Disintegration 2LP release from the same year. The original pressing on one LP is much better.
