There was always something pretty demonic about Mylene Farmer - her fascinating videos aside, it is unfair to compare her to a certain Madonna as some people continue doing. Madonna continues her own game against the norm - Mylene was always far more of a real deal, a silent creeper under your skin tearing it ever so sweetly from the inside; this collection of dance remixes is a great introduction to her earlier work (most these remixes partially respond to the versions of songs in the very videos), also proving she ranks high among those who never fell prey to boring 80s extensions of the original songs. An artist of considerable wit, combining twisted innocence, violence and occultism, in for a severe nerve test. The end result is that of a unique pop chanteuse that successfully bordered the subversive and the obscene. Highly recommended.
