- Edited 12 years agoWhen I was young in the very early 90s I had a thing for Trance music??? Anyway to cut a long story short the best around that I heard by a country mile was Doris Norton's Next Objective & her son Rexanthony's Techno Shock 4.
This is Doris Norton's best album and it's a real shame it never got a vinyl pressing considering virtually all of her other stuff did?
Today I hate Trance music....I just can't stand it.....it's just horrible in my opinion.....no soul or funk elements at all.....just bang bang bang with a few heavy ropey synth sounds thrown in.
I recently listened to Next Objective again out of nostalgic reasons and I must say I was actually pleasantly surprised.....it was obvious that Doris was listening to a lot of the early Jungle coming through at the time as there's numerous Jungle and Funk breaks elements through the album.
So basically what you have here is an outstanding Trance album made with love which even features some Jungle elements along with a bit of soul and funk.
