My copy plays at an inconsistent speed on SIde B. Ruined an otherwise phenomenal sounding experience. I decided to go with the Presswell pressing.

Revisiting the LP this week, and surely one of the finest albums of all time. A perfect execution of 'Chic' as a concept, and aside from the obvious dance floor power, here 'At Last I Am Free' is a sublime piece of art.

Is there a deluxe 19 track edition of C'est Chic in existence? I don't see it listed above, but it looks like one exists on the interwebs. I just wanted to see who issued it.

Risque is their peak of production excellence for me but obviously this is one of the greats too.
The singles are the highlights as usual but Nile's solos on the achingly lush instrumental Savoir Faire are a treat. Plus I'm a sucker for Funny (Bone), what a groove!

Incidentally, as I often found with Chic and S/S 12s too, this LP plays too fast. I wish someone would get to the bottom of how or why that happened. I'm absolutely certain would Nile would know!
Anyway, I have my Technics SL-1200 pitch adjust slider on -2 and that's the pocket for me. :)

For me the greatest Chic album. I would say that though, it has I Want Your Love on it which for me is a Desert Island Disc. The arrangement on that record never fails to not impress me and I still hear new elements every now and again. Also, At Last Im Free is worth mentioning too - a melody and lullaby of new beginnings and out with the old and in with the new ideals. Essential.
