You are quite right about it, but people like Freddy Fresh trying to charge $25-50 for basic megamixes is beyond me when I wouldnt even listen to these shit tracks on my own. most of the tracks are now lauded enough for a real resugensence

yeah this was a vehicle more for Hank than SOB. Let's not forget TERMINATOR X's Album too... Most couldn't see beyond the Black music emerging, and the mastery of technology of the time. Nobody was doing this level and many were trying to scramble to compete.

X* - I'll Never X-Plane / Get Unconscious
posted a review of X* - I'll Never X-Plane / Get Unconscious. about 1 year ago
I remember getting this from ED's Gourmet Records when it sat on the shelf for months. it is the epitome of cheesy FLA breaks, but still simple enough to use then. I remember the snooty employees at the store saying "Breakbeat has seen its day" all... See full review

Jungle Dancing is just a simple "Intro" for any DJ worth his vinyl would simply play M.A.R.R.S. Pump Up the Volume right after.

Not really bootlegged, but probably repressed whenever Mickey needed the money. I personally saw a hundred copies in the US in 1996, sealed, like a local domestic release.

All nostalgia aside, I remember hundreds of copies of this just as fresh as it first came out, SEALED and all. I bought this in 1996, on a bona-fide Fokus pressing, out of a stack of many copies. what I was told was that they were from the back... See full review

Reworking of Red Snapper's Hot Flush (Sabres of Paradise Mix), in a tracked out, and dancefloor way. Missing in this version is the subtle keyboard work and lost trumpet sound that gave the original a timeless character, but does serve as a decent... See full review

I saw the name as "TROUTMAN" and understood this album, for what it is. Very tight funk, and not well-known.

Some Bloke from the UK I used to work with at various clubs gave me a cassette that was a "Live Set" of Ellis Dee from '92 in a spot show with an MC. the entire first 30 minutes of the tape was Energizer 2. I have heard Ellis Dee play and would never... See full review

Holy... I remember starting a my first 3-hour set in front of about 1000 people at 2am, and thinking that I am in waaaayyy over my head! this got the crowd moving, and I ended up having a great set, regardless. Good tracky stuff to build upon, and... See full review

SHHHH! This is a secret weapon for late nights and mixtapes! Unique breaks and great basslines and synths. Vocals are not too bad either.

Much of Rising High's early catalog was a mix of Belgian Synths and British Brashness of breakbeats. You made me appreciate Caspar Pound even more when I didn't think it was possible.

16 Bit's version of Mr. Oizo-Flat Beat is a dancefloor monster! It causes serious mayhem with the aggressive synths and wicked bass tricks!

Bust out the Faygo and facepaint for this bangin' Juggalo Classic. Dope rhymes and beats for gettin' seriously blunted and rowdy! Early Insane Clown Posse can't be beat! I use this as my theme music for all my backyard wrasslin' matches! Gets all tha... See full review

One of my favorite tracks by The Black Dog, made during the "Spanners" era. Bird noises, rock-steady beats, and the wonderfully intelligent arrangements for both a dancefloor and a living room.

If you began your set with this back when, I'll bet you would have every other jock on the roster scrambling toward the booth to find out what this was. Doesn't get any more hardcore than this! When those lower hoovers hit the speakers, you know you... See full review

It's funnier when I have had this for many years, and liked it, but never played it in any sets. I don't think the crowd or me were really ready to hear this, and appreciate it like now.
