American Ballet teacher and director with British roots, born 14 June 1937; died 11 August 2013.

In the UK, he started his ballet career in his early years and he was exmined by the Royal Academy of Dancing in the age of 16, when he also was rewarded with the Adeline Genee medal. For two years, he was active at the Royal Palladium, then he was touring with the Royal Ballet for another 7 years.
He was called to Canada then, to become a soloist dancer.

Howard came to the USA in 1966 to teach at the Rebekah Harkness foundation, where he later worked as the ballet school's director. Later he opened and led his own Ballet School at NYC named "The David Howard Dance Center".
He was president of the National Association of Regional Ballet from 1976 to 1979 and later he took a lot of other functionalities in the regional ballet community.

In 1986, the David Howard Foundation was formed, to support gifted young ballet talents. After closing the "David Howard Dance Center" in 1995, Howard was active as a freelance ballet teacher all around the world.
