Just love them since years now. An overwhelming intense live band and always surprising and innovative in the studio. One of the most interesting bands on this strange planet.

Probably the best band I've come across in the last 15 years or so. I only wish I had heard of them sooner - so many wasted years! So much variety!! I only own a small but growing number of their releases, but every single one is unique and amazing in its own way.

It probably helps to be open-minded and have a large, varied music collection to really appreciate them, though - if you're the kind of person who looks like an 80s hair metal throwback who says things like "I only listen to the fastest, loudest, heaviest metal, woooarrrgghh" then you would be mostly disappointed.

While they do indeed play some insanely heavy metal at times, there's far more to Boris than that - there's evidence of Throbbing Gristle-style industrial sounds, Bullet For My Valentine-style fairly accessible metal(core?), gentle downtempo/ambient sounds reminiscent of Eno, Lush-like shoegaze, the harder end of guitar-driven 60s psychedelia, almost poppy synth-driven electro/indie rock, Velvet Underground-like feedback-drenched noise, and hard trance/techno synth lines and beats - how many bands could possibly claim to be so varied AND pull it off at the same time?

And, as if that wasn't enough, there is superb musicianship as well - when I read some of the idiotic comments on Youtube, I just have to laugh - No talent? Beginners?? Then again, it's Youtube comments - so what do we expect...

As a musician myself, with involvement in music which has lasted for decades, I should be able to spot talent and musicianship by now, and there is NO doubt in my mind that this band has both.

I'm of an age where many of my peers simply wouldn't be interested in new music, because they've "heard it all before", but I disagree - there's always something new AND good, so every so often, a new band or style of music appears which gives me an adrenalin rush, just like the best artists or the best dr*gs. This band is one which definitely has that effect, making me feel like I'm 15 again, and it's all brand-new.

I've still not heard a disappointing Boris release - and long may it stay that way!

Intelligent and very creative. A band that really loves to branch out and try new things. Some truly unique experiences to be had in their discography.
