Just A/B-ed this with 63 Van Gelder and I dare say it holds its own for a sixth of the price. Can't part with my Van Gelder though so rare album I have to hang on to 2 copies of.

For all intents and purposes you may as well listen to this on youtube. But on my hifi tube ampey system, it does have a little bit of heft when I crank it. And some of this guitar playing is nuts. The Devil DID NOT get all the good music

Just cracked open my wife's copy of this. I def know where you're coming from with Plain Recordings. This one seems awright but has no mastering signature. One wonders how this would sound if Kevin Gray got hold of it

I have this. It sounds very full with good bottom end. It's a John Golden master and he is pretty much de rigueur for indie rock vinyl

This reissue sounds terrible. Considering it coincided with a series of CD reissues, I would not be surprised if it was cut from a compact disc master

The DC BQS stands for David Cheppa Better Quality Sound. Don't know what sources he used, but he mastered a bunch of late 90s funk reissues like this, some Meters et al., that absolutely throb with bottom end

That is definitely part of it. But the fact that being Canadian it's probably cut in Canada from a dub tape of the master by someone who might not know what they are doing or care is also part of it

This is a GZ Media bootleg that sounds great with thumpy bottom end and crispy definition on the guitars. Possibly the best punk album ever done by punks who actually were in the streets with their lives at risk. That wasn't me

I know everyone clowns on Akarma, but this is a very good sounding reissue

I put this up against a UK Vertigo OG and it slightly faltered. However, it cost me 20 bux and my friend paid 200 for the UK OG

Picked up Real Gone recently and just A/Bed with my Back On Black. Real Gone sounds punchier with more low end. Back On Black is not bad, but it's going into my sell pile.

I just received this and did not have any of the pressing problems listed below. Sounds bloody great.
