Hansel - Lorentzian Lineshaper
a posté un avis de Hansel - Lorentzian Lineshaper. over 16 years ago
After a stunning Respond_Violence, Boston-based Hansel had lofty expectations to live up to. Unfortunately, Lorentzian Lineshaper is far from being a worthy follow-up to it's groundbreaking predecessor.

The album sounds better, but that's the only... Voir l'avis en entier
Futurisk - What We Have To Have / (You're In The) Army Now
a posté un avis de Futurisk - What We Have To Have / (You're In The) Army Now. over 18 years ago
An essential piece of work, The Sound Of Futurism is a record that perfectly blends the first steps of modern synthpunk with abstract noise, with a deep, deep production value.

On side A, Army Now, this dizzy, fuzzy, mixed hymn to war, blows up in... Voir l'avis en entier
The Ecstasy Of Saint Theresa - Slowthinking
a posté un avis de The Ecstasy Of Saint Theresa - Slowthinking. over 18 years ago
After nearly 12 years of making noises and rocking the guitars, The Ecstacy Of Saint Theresa lived an incredible number of changes, both in line-up and in sound. The first thing one will remark is that this album is maybe their finest moment ever.... Voir l'avis en entier
Nitsch & Gleinser - Deuxieme
a posté un avis de Nitsch & Gleinser - Deuxieme. over 18 years ago
The first release on Voltage Musique was sporting the label's arrogant slogan : "Fantastique musique for fantastique people", French-induced typos included. Nevertheless, that release held La Deuxième's first incarnation and for that alone, the slogan... Voir l'avis en entier
Fischerspooner - Odyssey

Fischerspooner. The royal family of electroclash. Yeah yeah... that's it, and I'm a donkey.

After getting huge success with their debut album, #1, Warren Fischer and Casey Spooner had some serious financial problems (no joke). So, away they went.... Voir l'avis en entier
Crossover - Cryptic And Dire Sallow Faced Hoods Blast Off Into Oblivion
a posté un avis de Crossover - Cryptic And Dire Sallow Faced Hoods Blast Off Into Oblivion. over 19 years ago
After vanishing into subspace after their debut album, a very pop-oriented offering, fell onto the electroclash pavement, Crossover is back with some serious beatmaking intentions. Right away, let's say that the German duo is not afraid to point out... Voir l'avis en entier

Hell - NY Muscle
a posté un avis de Hell - NY Muscle. over 19 years ago
What is there to say about such a salutary album as N.Y. Muscle ? DJ Hell, founder of Gigolo Records, return from nowhere in a moment of great criticism concerning the direction he oriented his label into. And what a comeback ! This album isn't only... Voir l'avis en entier
LCD Soundsystem - Yeah
a posté un avis de LCD Soundsystem - Yeah. over 19 years ago
First, LCD mixed at a perfect level punk and disco with Losing My Edge. Then, with Give It Up, the disco side was watered down a bit and stripped to a pure rock'n'roll extasy. Now what to except from Yeah ? Disco beats, of course !

But that... Voir l'avis en entier
Daiquiri - Box Office Poison
a posté un avis de Daiquiri - Box Office Poison. over 20 years ago
Ottawa-based Daiquiri escapes all notions of time and space with their cranked-up cheap electropunk noise soup. Sounding sometimes as hard as black metal and sometimes as soft and dandy as a joke, the duo demonstrate here their aversion of music... Voir l'avis en entier
Zombie Nation - Absorber
a posté un avis de Zombie Nation - Absorber. over 20 years ago
With his already visionary Leichenschmaus album, Splank! from Zombie Nation made it clear : he was here to change the patterns of electronic music. With Absorber, the evidence of a total success strikes beautifully. From the integration of an electric... Voir l'avis en entier
John Starlight - Blood Angels
a posté un avis de John Starlight - Blood Angels. over 20 years ago
If there was only one word to descirbe this track, it would be HARD. Badly vocoded vocals, crispy grinding sounds and a killer bassline give the first few seconds a wannabe raw feeling. But when the main synth bumps in, it's total euphoria and no one... Voir l'avis en entier
Fischerspooner
a posté un avis de Fischerspooner. over 20 years ago
All electro purists, pseudo-intellectuals can run their mouths about Fischerspooner as long as they want to, just the finale to Emerge demonstrates how hardcore these New Yorkers can be. The sound is uncompromised, crashing in fast-paced beats and... Voir l'avis en entier
LCD Soundsystem - Give It Up
a posté un avis de LCD Soundsystem - Give It Up. over 20 years ago
This release just rock it the right way. "Give it up" serves a groovy moody retro smash of raw energy with amazing disco basses and cool vocals, making it a must to pump back the dancefloor but staying good homelistening as well. On the B-side, Tired... Voir l'avis en entier
Mutron - Hsart EP

Brilliant, violent and solid. What else would you expect from a great record to rock on the dancefloor ? Commodore 64 sounds, of course ! This is pure genius.
Crossover - The Journey To Gröb
a posté un avis de Crossover - The Journey To Gröb. over 20 years ago
This offering prooves to be one hell of a surprise from Crossover who disguised a single of Phostographt into a new EP. The result wouldn't have been deceiving if something else have been in the place of The Journey To Gröb (the song). However,... Voir l'avis en entier
Christian Kreuz - Koks & Prada / Lebenslänglich Disco
a posté un avis de Christian Kreuz - Koks & Prada / Lebenslänglich Disco. over 20 years ago
This release explains very well what was going on behind Dakar & Grinser, as everybody now knows the disco edge was provided by Kreuz. However, instead of pushing things further, the German producer sticks to that old stinky, not-so-interesting sound.... Voir l'avis en entier
STR (6) With Tim Tycoon - We Are He-Men EP
a posté un avis de STR (6) With Tim Tycoon - We Are He-Men EP. over 20 years ago
This records set up quality comparable to Nitsch & Gleinser's, brilliant compositions and pure neo-retro mix which make the record unique. I-Lite is one hell of a song, powerful, melodic, yet, somehow sad, somehow shining with hapiness. Stunning record.
