- Nice album but unfortunately not very good quality pressing. Noisy hiss-sounds through the whole record. Quite a mood killer in the end.
- Does anyone else think RA's voice sound distorted or peaking on this Canadian pressing? Or can someone comment on how the other pressings sound?
- Holy christ-a-lot! This is a GREAT sounding record, sonically and artistically. Initially I wasn't a fan of the newer stuff, but after giving it a chance I found (of course) it to be an integral part of the artist's journey. A really well produced and curated album. This is a beautiful pressing; yes, it is coloured but it is clear-yellow, so no chalk-coloured die in here (which messes with sonic quality). Limited to 1,000 pressings... I don't know why there were any left when I decided to purchase it well after the fact. I am glad this guy is making music
- Vinyl is thick, flat and sound is clear and very dynamic. The variant is very cool and the bonus 7” is a great addition. Such an excellent album from an outstanding, resilient and relevant artist. One of my favorite and go-to Sunday morning drinking coffee albums.
- My copy is a little noisy to start with but the hiss fades away during tracks A1 and B1.
Other than that, sounds fairly decent. I'm glad RA finally got to release this record, it's a really good return to form.
One of his best IMO. - Edited 2 years agoMy US pressing sounds great. Quiet, flat vinyl. I thought I was hearing some distortion in track 1 that caused me to think I had a pressing flaw. After checking it through my headphones, it's actually just a guitar part with a lot of distortion in it that's buried well down in the mix. It threw me off for more than a minute. Clever...if ever so slightly annoying. :>) Great LP!
- Good clean sound. Guitar tones really shine, good mix of bass. Strong reverb on vocals becomes less of a focus-stealer after a few listens. Still wish he’d dial it back a touch, but it does create dimension in the vocal track and it’s his album, after all. Master of the craft, all-in.
- Edited one year agoThis (and the blue Wednesdays) is still available at a normal price from jbhifi - if you’re ok with unregistered shipping from Australia, the don’t offer registered for some reason.
