What an incredible album, amazing vocals, horns section and acoustics, just beautiful music! Don’t hesitate in adding this to your collection, one of the better albums in great sound quality out of Africa. This artist also went a long way in his collaborations with other big artists.

Senegalese singer Cheikh Lô's impressive debut album for Youssou N'Dour's World Music imprint, remastered and rereleased 23 years after it first came out. The Cuban influence on Lô's music shines through clearly on these recordings, although the overall sound is distinctly West African. Lo has a beautiful voice, that is supported by very naturally produced acoustic instruments and a very subtle addition of some synthesizer sounds. A beautiful album throughout, too bad it's only 45 minutes long!

Original cassette mixes will be re-released on 180g vinyl alongside a 16 page colour booklet by World Circuit for Record Store Day 2018.
Saw him as the support act of Youssou N’Dour in 1996 and he totally stole the show from the headline artist.
