Artwork designed by Edwin Pickstone & Ivor Williams on a FAG Control 525 Swiss-built semi-automatic cylinder proofing press in Glasgow. Type was a mix of 35 line sans condensed and 50 lined grotesque super-condensed and was left 80% black, deliberately broken print to echo the sentiment of remixes carrying the remnants of the original.

Love the Grizzly Bear track, but let's all check the stats.

Based on this entry, this is supposedly a limited edition of 2000... yet 1800+ people here on Discogs claim to have the vinyl. I do have it, but maybe it was released more broadly? Any thoughts?

Definitely a future classic as someone already said. This music is pretty incredible. Ethereal yet engaging, complex yet accessible, soothing yet full of surprises and, in the case of the Grizzly Bear track, heavily pulsing, at least if you turn it up, in contrast to the Eno track which remains "ambient". Definitely made to be heard on proper sound systems, nothing much happens if you listen to a transcription on tinny computer speakers, but given the benefit of some air between the speakers, and some bass extension behind them, this really comes alive, which makes the release on vinyl only all the more appropriate.

The artwork is like the music, in a way; superficially there is something simple and structured, but there are details (look at the G), twists (upside down 7's), grain (80% ink density apparently), and if you can bear to take off the shrinkwrap you'll find that the glossy ink stands out slightly from the matt card. Incidentally, due to the nature of the printing process that it was mastered by, it reminds me of the printed items that are produced by vintage machines at various working museums where our industrial heritage is brought to life.

The only fly in the ointment is the inevitable repercussions of the nature of the distribution of this release as part of Record Store Day 2013: viz., the reselling by speculators at inflated prices to the real fans who were unable to visit a record shop that day, or to beat the queues and catch the limited quantities available.

Thank you RSD! This is one amazing set of remixes that have so much depth and space to them, really beautiful and effortless music, bound to be a future classic for sure. Love the print too.
