- This Vinyl (and the latter, identical reissues) absolutely destroys the fatiguing, over-compressed CD release.
- This pressing is absolutely amazing! Dead silent all the way through, incredible detail can be heard from the strings all the way through the bass, the dynamic range is bonkers you’ll go from booming drums to high flying strings and there won’t be a hint of distortion, and to top it all off the soundstage is huge!
An incredible vinyl release for a modern classic score. - Damn, this first pressing is AMAZING. The soundstage is every bit of Hans Zimmer as one would hope. The percussion is booming and the quiet strings and piano sections are near dead silent, occasional static and such, the standard things that come along with the format.
Can’t attest to the represses, but I am very pleased with this original. A worthy spot in every film lover’s collection. - My pressing came with both LPs having the same label from D sides track listing. A and C are normal. I thought when I first opened it there might have been 2 LP 2 C/D. A and C sides have proper Batman/Joker labels.
- Edited 4 years agoThis is a beautiful pressing! The noise floor is incredibly quiet and the dynamic range sounds like it's been remastered for vinyl; either that or Hans Zimmer already masters his songs with dynamic range in mind and I've just never noticed. But this sounds a bit more wide to me on vinyl. The super low noise floor gives the sub-bass synth plenty of room to reverberate in your ears and gives extra character to the quiet parts of the score.
Unfortunately my records came with a bit more warping than I'd like them to have, but it doesn't sound like it's causing much of an issue. A few clicks here and there, which can be due to the dust or the dry climate I'm in right now. Either way I think it should go away with a good wet cleaning. Extra care appears to have been given to the outer sleeve as well, with a nice high resolution print job and a very pleasing glossy finish.
Definitely has my recommendation! - This is an absolutely beautiful score. Love to put it on whilst working which is hard to accomplish because the music has become so intrinsically linked with the imagery of the film that I visualise it in my mind. Every time I hear the opening track: 'Why so Serious?' I see the opening shots of Gotham city and the heist. The score is so well constructed you recognise each motif in reference to a character whenever you hear them without fail. This is a must have for any score collector.
- Picked this up recently....And man-o-man is it awesome. This is what other film scores wish they become when they grow up.
