E.M.F. is a strange track. On the one hand you have this pulsating, screaming Belgian Techno monster. Yet elements of trance drift in & out, which kinda jar with the aggressive vibe.

It's a bit difficult to listen to, but at the same time I really respect it. The track feels like it's caught between 2 eras, that of the period where it was from (hard Techno, which was soon to kneel down to Gabba) & the new Trance sound that was just beginning to emerge.

"Earth" on the B-side lets go of the hardcore altogether, and presents a very elegant vibe not unlike early Paul van Dyk or Effective Force.

Definitely a record of 2 sides, make no mistake.

Pops up in almost every house mix or cd from 1991.
        Classic tune.

EMF in my own opinion is one of the very best tracks from the Mackenzie. The track leads off in the usual trancey sort of style and then the vocal shout kicks in with "Ecstasy...Motherf**ker...Motherf**ker" and all hell breaks loose with screeching synths of all pitches as the beat pounds on - a definate hit in my eyes. If your a technohead and you don't own this track you can do no wrong in buying this i tell you!
