It's been 10 years since produced, and this album has aged EXTREMELY well, arguably being the height of neurofunk in the 2000's. It's as seminal as Inside the Machine or Molten Beats for me personally. Such a massive shame this throwback 70's Lalo Schifrin cruising around in an Impala with an Afro and sideburns energetic funky breakbeat style of DnB didn't progress further. Between this album, Hive's Gemini, Gridlok+Echo's Structure/RockLock, and Echo's Fallin/Out of Time remix made Violence a top-notch, AAA label back in 2005, 2006. So hard to pick a favorite track! California Schemin was the big dancefloor rinser that most DJs rocked, and when I got the white-label 5x12" on promo, I probably played Gridlok's Mass Transit the most. Culture was a few years ahead of its time, and if probably my favorite to listen to beginning-to-end and currently mix with darker autonomic. Break the Cycle and Science probably have the largest crossover appeal, and Dead Planet took the longest to grow on me but is now on rotation on my decks currently. For more of this style of sound, see the rest of Violence's catalouge, but also:
