Dorival Caymmi (April 30, 1914, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil - August 16, 2008, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) was a prominent Brazilian songwriter and singer.
Should not be confused with his son, Dori Caymmi, who was born in 1943 and is also well-known as a writer, producer, and performer. Please be careful when attributing writing credits, because both, father and son may appear displayed as "Dorival" or "Dori".
Husband of singer Stella Maris Tostes, father of Nana Caymmi, Dori Caymmi, Danilo Caymmi, grandfather of Stela Caymmi, Alice Caymmi.
