- Yay, this is a great reissue ! My Guerssen copy didn't sound bad but had quite a lot of distortion, which is not the case here. This may not be the most analog sounding pressing but it's quiet and clear overall

Jesus Christ, what a piss-poor job they did on side 1. The grooves don't have enough room to accommodate the dynamics, I guess, because if you're listening to a quiet part and a louder part is about to happen, you'll get the "ghost" of it before it happens. (Tested on multiple turntables.)
Just did a shoot-out with a Sundazed version that Kevin Gray cut (that unfortunately isn't mine) and the Sundazed played *beautifully*.
Side 2 played fine. The bonus disc is nice but again, pressing quality is a little iffy. What a shame. - This 2010 black vinyl copy is cut by Kevin Gray, pressed by Rainbo and sounds great. Centered, quiet vinyl, quality mastering (although to be fair I haven’t compared it with other reissues).
- I have been able to compare this edition of Elemental and that of Guerssen from 2006.
The new one from Elemental may sound a little clearer, probably due to slightly brighter EQ.
Guerssen's 2006 sounds a little "darker" (due to said EQ?) but with much more dynamics and depth.
From what another discogs member says, the Guerssen one has more dynamics than an OG, so perhaps the Elemental one is more like an OG. Don't know
As for the design, the color of Elemental's cover is lighter, with a white background and a lighter blue that is faithful to the original cover. The labels also replicates the original.
The Guerssen cover has a more yellowish background (it gives it a vintage look that I like, but it doesn't look like the original), and the blue is darker. The cover has a very light pleasant texture. The labels are from Guerssen, they do not replicate Kapp's OG. Includes an inner and poster.
In my personal taste I stick with Guerssen, it is a delight to listen to the album with good dynamics that can be seen very well in the voices, guitars and drums. It gives it a more "analogue" feel, despite not knowing the original source of this edition.
However, for the price, the Elemental is a highly recommended option. Just sounds more compressed, but has good separation and stereo scene. referencing Parallelograms (LP, Album, Stereo) KS-3636
Stunning psych-folk in the purest sense, some outstanding tracks like the first, with unique harmony-changes and multi-layered minor-key vocals. "Strangely Strange" and really haunting are some of her song-titles, enhancing the music even
more (or vice versa). An album that to my ears makes Nick Drake sound pretty conventional (sorry for that).referencing Parallelograms (2×LP, Album, Reissue) ARC001
It's true, this is a bad pressing. Mastered too quiet first off, so you have to crank it twice as loud as the average record thus bringing up any noise from your amp/phono stage, and then it's full of loud pops and ticks that are extra annoying because the music is pressed so quietly. It will have to do until I come across a better pressing that isn't super expensive.- Whoa ...whats with the noisy pressing .Atrocious and unfathomable how much noise is in the revord NOT the recording. A FEW cleans has helped.ONE DAY some one might actually get around to pressing this properly

Which ever master/remaster of this album that's on digital streaming platforms is absolute GARBAGE! They completely ruined the quality by trying to remove background hiss. I'd like to buy this on vinyl but I'm afraid of dropping money on something that sounds like complete crap. Can anybody help clarify which newer releases are either a) the original master or b) a different remaster from whatever the heck is available for streaming? - Despite my love and preference for vinyl, I went for the digipack CD and glad I did.
A lovely listen for a wintry Sunday afternoon. No sonic issues at all.
