Skips on end of Die Roboter. Bought in Norway 2024 at a record fair (sealed). Clearaudio player with 2.1g tracking force. Noticable bass boost at end of the track. Bad mastering and/or pressing.
A bit sad, as I was excited to finally have this record in German.
Release should be tagged as faulty. referencing The Mix (2×LP, Album, Limited Edition, Reissue, Remastered, Special Edition, White) 50999 6 99592 1 9
I think I've found what's wrong with this record. Shortly after the last "Wir sind die Roboter" the left channel gets louder by about 4 dB while the right channel stays the same. This is no manufacturing defect - it's a mistake that was made in the cutting room when the record was cut for the 2009 reissue. The level difference stays like this for the rest of side 1 and repeats on side 2 during the "Dentaku" section of "Taschenrechner". No problems here because these songs have far weaker bass than "Die Roboter" which has (I think) the strongest bass of all songs on the album. The second LP seems to be ok, as well as the English version. I've got no idea how this could happen and why nobody else has noticed it before - it's clearly audible, now that I know it... ;)
After the level change in one channel, the bass is not in the stereo centre anymore and this can kick the needle "over the edge" because it gets more pressure from one side than the other. The left channel is the inner flank of the groove, that's why the needle jumps backwards and the same section is repeated over and over again.- Edited 8 months ago

Would have given it 5 stars but unfortunately my copy has the faulty pressing where Die Roboter jumps and gets stuck, shame as everything else is really good. - I have a BMG club release, but mine is an ARC pressing. Techno music doesn’t get any better than Kraftwerk. I got to see them in concert in Atlanta about 8 years ago. It was an experience that I hope I never forget.

The audio material on this album is highly problematic for vinyl. It has very much and very low bass, much stereo stuff going on etc. All this can cause a needle to skip very easily. This is not a defect, it's just the vinyl medium being pushed to its limits by the source material. To me it's a miracle that there isn't much more skipping going on really... And it's obviously depending on the record player if the record skips - Die Roboter skips on my Technics 1210 Mk2 but the same LP plays without problems on my Revox B790 tangential player.referencing The Mix (2×LP, Album, Limited Edition, Reissue, Remastered, Special Edition, White) 50999 6 99592 1 9
Seems that I got a harmless copy. No cracks or damages on A1 fully plain and decent sound- Edited one year ago

A1 Die Roboter is broken! A shame for such a big company! and an absolutely inadequate unprofessional work - Hmmm. The used cd copy I bought in 2010 for $4 at a second hand record store sounds flawless still and no issues with Die Riboter.
- Bought one new yesterday and it also has a problem with "Die Roboter". The needle jumps back close to the end of the track so that it kind of "loops". Giving the tone arm a very slight push forwards made it continue playing and the rest of the track played fine. Apart from this flaw the records sounds incredibly good.
