Transphonic – The Funk Flows Freestyle

This was the first US import that I ever bought in the UK. It opened my eyes/ears to a whole new style.

It's jam packed full of samples ranging from Talking Head's Born Under Punches, Johnny Hammond's Los Conquistadores Chocolates, Dennis Coffey's Scorpio, Heatwave's Groove Line, Quantum Jump's Lone Ranger, Mothers Finest Dis go dis way dis go dat way, Kikrokos Life's A Jungle...it's a hodge-podge of cool breaks pulled together like you've never heard them before, thanks to Hunter and Dao's talents.

It's weird and wonderful and I can only describe it as electro-funk...it's really difficult to define, but that's usually a good indication of quality. Anyway it comes from a time when house was still a 'feelin.'...so it's best just to kick that bare in your mind to the back and listen.

Incredible electro style thumper that damages the dance floor each and every time..
With Peter Daou in the mix as well (331/3 Queen).. This is one of the dopest on this label.. in my opinion several arent much to rave about but the records that were dope were absolutely brilliant on this label and this is one of them (Funk Flows Freestyle)..
Im pretty sure that some of these were repressed as well.. I urge you to check out this amazing record
