I have a test pressing of this that I haven’t seen really anywhere else. Generic white sleeve and hand written labels. Any info on it would be great.

Bought a used copy today (around vg++ condition for the records themselves), and yeah, I think it sounds good, pretty quiet vinyl, wide and spacious with a good thump, is this the one to own? Someone really needs to do a pressing shootout on this album

This OG pressing is honestly fantastic! The records are quiet and sound vibrant with no sibilance issues, and the sleeve is sturdy and high-quality. The only true negative I have is that the beat switch at the end of ‘Montara’ could quite possibly burn your house down.
Recommended w/o a doubt, this is a must-have gem for jazz & hiphop lovers alike.

It's freakin' AMAZING what Madlib did with these compositions! It's clear to the trained ear that he used the isolated tracks from these classic Blue Note sessions. This is not a sample based album, this is a reimaginated jazz/hiphop fusion album - of the highest possible caliber. Salute!

One of the best sounding albums I own. Madlib definitely earns the title of beat conductor for this project.

My copy of this OG has additional numbers in the runouts: S-63682, S-63683, S-63684, S-63685. Indicating pressing is from Rainbo. It is an excellent sounding pressing despite. Would be curious what's printed in the currently available repress.

Perfect album for Hip Hop heads who are willing to give Jazz a chance. Many still have not made the connection, but for those who have this album is a perfect representation of how the two genres intertwine. Madlib shows how its done when it comes to flipping some jazz. My personal favorite is Donald Byrd's Distant Land and Madlib does it justice. THis one is a classic and more people need to hears it even 1 years later.

I have this specific record and it's exactly as the image you shared describes. Not a gatefold, just a sleeve roomy enough to hold both LPs without squishing them. In fact, I was looking at this just last night as I finally tore the plastic off of it. Hope this helps. I also did a little Googling and cannot find any evidence of a gatefold release of this. If you find one, please submit it. Hope this helps.
PS: This record is AMAZING! :-)
