Notes
"Recorded live at Wembley Stadium London, England. 7/5/76"
In B/W picture cover.
Even though cover states 'Recorded live at Wembley Stadium London', the actual venue would have been Empire Pool, Wembley, later known as Wembley Arena.
Originally released in Japan by a Japanese label, Marc, as "Don't Touch That Dial", with a single production run of 2,000. See David Bowie - Don't Touch That Dial. Japanese law at the time allowed the production and sale of any LPs by non-JASRAC artists, so long as the recording had been made before 1978. Thus, the original Marc release was perfectly legal under Japanese law.
This bootleg was then released by the BPI in order to track down and bust a chain of bootleggers (Operation Moonbeam). The result was successful. Because of the success of this sting operation, only a small part of the stock came in circulation. "Stay" is not listed on the cover. Content is same as LP "Don't Touch That Dial" (1976/77).
Runout is etched.

Reviews
- Note that there is no actual sleeve , just a flimsy paper wraparound thing
It doesn't sound nearly as bad as the legend suggests
it's certainly not "Godawful" as Clinton Heylin stated in his otherwise excellent Bootleg! book - Mine is with another cover, tittle Donttouchthatdial, limited edition of 300 copies, number 135
The Thin White Duke recorded live at London's Wembley Pool on May 7, 1976 - Many copies skip on waiting for the man and queen bitch - funnily enough at the same points in the songs - from experience the best buy is the original marc recording as you are going right back to source and not relying on second grade copies and premature fade out on diamond dogs - hope this helps!!!
- This bootleg was made by the BPI and I am fairly sure they never even got permission from David Bowie after having a brief discussion with him in a night club soon after-this sting operation was very much a case of entrapment and despite quoting figures to the contrary it would appear that they only ever managed to retrieve 30 per cent of the total made- hence they put 70 percent of a bootleg into circulation-simply a straight copy of the Japanese Marc label release 'Don't Touch That Dial'.
