Wow. Mr. Shaikh turns a new page with this multi-genre, incredibly upbeat album that simply oozes quality and creativity. While his last few releases have had moments of danceability, Universal Frequencies is truly designed to move your feet and you will discover this the further you travel through the album. The only track that I felt was out of place was Water Prayer (Holden Space Mix), which has oldschool rap vocals ala old Transglobal Underground. Other than that strange moment, Universal Frequencies is quickly going down as my favorite Shaikh record, it really is awesome to hear him do techy and trancey stuff after being one of the leaders in global downtempo for so many years.
