Overall its a satisfying experience, but nothing overwhelming, its sounds often very minimalist and striped out of tunes, this release can work well as a sci-fi soundtrack.

Undersea Disturbances is a lovely bubbly (both positive and aquatic in this sense) while Aquatic Cataclysm sounds like being in the deepest, darkest depths of the ocean with all those flashlight and anglerfish.
Lake Haze is the most conventional Electro track here although still very Drexciyan in approach.
The moody and higly emotional Birth of New Life concludes the journey.

Drexciya were so brilliant to come up with tracks like these. It's a great shame we will never hear any more wonderful music from this duo.

Drexciya returns with another album of underwater Detroit electro, Harnessed the Storm. As always, the production values are outstanding -- the synths are well-modulated, the percussion exact. Here, as on other albums, they seem to favor a staticky, bubbly hi-hat, which only adds to the whole underwater feel. “Digital Tsunami” has the force of a storm, while “Dr. Blowfins’ Black Storm Stabilizing Sphere” sounds exactly like the name describes. “Lake Haze” goes for a more straightforward electro feel (one of the few tracks that could make its way onto the dancefloor), but atmosphere -- or should I say liquisphere? -- is the order of the day. Dive on in. The water’s fine.

Here is a record you can listen to at home : these melodic electro and ambient tracks describe an aquatic world undergoing a cataclysm. From the warning to the reconstruction, this introspective music provides emotion...
