Reviews
- This is a record with such beauty and diversity it is somewhat a rare case among countless pop-soul afectating singers that usurpated mainstream charts of the time (Londonbeat, Michael Jackson, etc)...
Armed with finest of studio production and delivery even by today's standards, 'The Hardline' is a stunning listen, a deserved classic and a masterpiece right from the heart of then-youngster D'Arby. Truly amazing a debut laying foundations in one's impressive career.
Hard to state any highlights from the very album - still if anyone insists on reading this, the opener 'If You All Get To Heaven', brilliant hits 'Wishing Well', 'Sign Your Name' and 'If You Let Me Stay' plus beautiful acapella of 'As Yet Untitled' and the closing number, a cover of 'Who's Loving You', are all worth the price of this album alone to possess, the rest of this treasurebox is up to you to discover. 10+/10
