I loathe to use the word MINIMAL, but i'm hard pushed to find a better word to describe this LP. Very clinical in it's sound, track titles & packaging, the premise seems to be centred around pharmaceuticals. Which was probably influenced by time spent working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Finland. Musicaly, some of the pieces sound like some lost & forgotten biological experiments left to fester in the bottom of an old petri dish. However, the real shift from prelimenary cell study to full lab trial is delivered in the shape of ANKSIOLYYTTI. Twelve & a half minutes of deep black space. Like Brian Eno's NEROLI but without the pastel shades. Where NEROLI offered the listener a chance of escape via passive listening, ANKSIOLYYTTI comes over like a brooding, malignant tumour. Engaging until the end. . . . . . . .
