It's kind-of a manifesto for world music from the '90s and on... Ridely Scott's soundtrack team for BHD must have the cassette playing in their walkmans! And a nice touch to hear original recordings in a sepearate issue, as well as the OST for the film.

Peter Gabriel's Last Temptation soundtrack is one of the few OST that I can stomach from front to back. A lot of the people on that lp play on here under their own name. Its primary middle eastern music from folk to a contemporary twist. Big fan of this record.

After cherishing my cassette copy for years I finally scored a copy of this treasure on vinyl and I now feel safe in heping you all to this special collection, which is often found hiding right out in the open. Hiding behind the rather innocuous cover art, under the hit-or-miss "World Music" umbrella and under the household name of Peter Gabriel. Any or all of these things might cause one person or another to buzz passed this in the bins. However this record should be being sought out by all reverent hipsters out there who are presently scarfing up all those Mississippi Records, LP collections of old international ethnic recordings and those 'Secret Museum of Mankind' compilations. This is basically a collection of the musics that Peter Gabriel used for inspiration when he was working on the soundtrack for The Last Temptation Of Christ. The real (raw?) deal with a few tracks even credited to "unknown musicians" recorded on location... just how you like it!
